CME/MOC2/MOC4: Improving Care for Developmental Disabilities and Dysmorphic Features

This is a multi-state virtual learning collaborative to connect pediatricians and other pediatric clinic staff interested in improving performance, documentation, and follow-up (including referrals and genetic testing) on screening for developmental disabilities and dysmorphic features in pediatric primary care clinics. The project can be completed in 4 months. This activity has been approved for MOC2, MOC4 and CME Credits and has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. There is no charge for participation in this HRSA-funded project.

To successfully complete the MOC4 project, the pediatrician will:

  • Complete a minimum of three prospective audits of the pediatrician’s patients and/or clinic patients including a baseline audit, a mid-point audit and final audit;
  • Identify and implement a minimum of two intervention strategies identified to increase rates of documented screening in children ages 10-35 months and communication of results with parents and making appropriate referrals;
  • Prepare and implement the Screening and Referral Action Plan and submit online;
  • Enter audit data into the project data aggregator system (provided by the Midwest Genetics Network) which will prepare run charts via the web-enabled reporting tool;
  • Review and discuss run chart for each audit with clinic team; and,
  • Participate in at least two virtual learning collaborative presentations or view the recordings during the project period. Virtual Learning Collaborative Presentation information is listed in the column on the left.
